permanent green lighT
Directed by Dennis Cooper et Zac Farley, 2018

SYNOPSIS
Roman wants to explode. Unlike other teenagers, he doesn’t seem interested in sports or drugs, girls or boys. He’s neither nihilist, religious, depressive or suicidal. His goal is to vanish, dying is unimportant and he’s only interested in the act’s spectacular effect. But please, don’t misinterpret it as his death.

Dennis Cooper is the author of eleven novels as well as numerous books of poetry and non-fiction. His books have been translated into 19 languages. His most recent novels are The Marbled Swarm (Harper Collins, 2016), Zac's Haunted House (Kiddiepunk Press, 2015) and Zac's Freight Elevator (Kiddiepunk Press, 2016), the latter two internationally acclaimed first-of-their-kind novels composed entirely of animated gifs. With Zac Farley, he co-created the feature film Like Cattle Towards Glow (2015). In addition to his ongoing collaborations with Farley, he has written the works of French theater director and choreographer Gisèle Vienne since 2004.
Zac Farley is an artist and filmmaker based in Paris. He studied at the California Institute of the Arts and Northwestern University. His films and videos embrace confusion as a form of truth, striving to visualize the most ineffable emotions. Through meticulous editing and framing, he creates analogies between bodies, landscapes, and abstractions.
In addition to the feature films he co-directed with Dennis Cooper — including Permanent Green Light (2018) and Like Cattle Towards Glow (2015) — he has also collaborated with choreographer Gisèle Vienne.
