SYNOPSIS
Fifty years after Resnais, a young film maker makes the trip to Poland, and asks himself: “I know we’ve all seen pictures of the concentration camps. Will the fact of going to see this by myself change anything?” Poland is the country where you search for your roots and if you don’t have any, you’re looking for those of others and, at the same time, you look around…

Julien Donada was born in 1969 in Antibes, France. He began his career as an assistant director.
In 1996, he directed his first documentary, An Autumn in Poland, which was screened around the world and won numerous awards at festivals in France and abroad. Since then, Julien has directed a wide range of films, including six documentaries and five short films, such as La part des choses, In San Remo, and About the Bunker.
In 2010, following a long collaboration with producer Nicolas Brevière of LOCAL FILMS, Julien directed his first feature film, On The Shore, starring French actor/director Daniel Duval and Italian actress Chiara Caselli.
