This documentary shows us the process of transfer of a living art through the generations. The purpose is to pay tribute to the preceding creative artists — Jacqueline Robinson, Karine Waehner, Dominique Dupuy — themselves influenced by the great high priestess of modern Dance, Mary Wigman — and, in doing so, to better place the young contemporary choreographic generation within its originality but also within its origins.

Dancing passes from one body onto another, travelling through time and space as a living link in a living chain. It is a heritage lived at a human tempo — a heritage that transcends the barriers of time and space, even through the darkest years of the Second World War.
